Linkwood 30 Year Old 54.9% ABV / Distillery Bottling Category: Speyside Compare Prices: Linkwood
Description: Linkwood 1974 is from a Speyside distillery renowned for its single malt, even in Victorian times. Traditionally distilled at lower alcohol levels to help to bring out all its richness, this amber Speyside 30-year-olds deep, fruity aromas introduce a soft-bodied dram with sweetly smooth flavours and a spicy, nutmeg-dry finish. No more than 6000 bottles have been produced, and is part of the very last round of releases from Rare Malts Collection series.
Tasting Notes: The nose is deep and fruity with aromas of glacé cherries, tinned apricots, greengages, but also creamy and rich notes of brioche fresh from the oven. The palate is a good interpretation of the nose - thick, smooth, fruity and sweet with rosewater, anis and perfumed touches. To finish it is spicy, drying and long with nutmeg, and even traces of snuff.
