Description: An excellent lighter style Speyside malt. A large proportion of the distilleries production goes into the excellent J&B blended whisky.
Tasting Notes: Light to medium-bodied with enticing, smooth, delicte nutty flavour and a warm sweet edge to the finish.
Method of Production: Knockando lies in the lower Spey region, taking water from the Cardnach Spring. Ground malted barley is mixed with the pure water producing wort which is fermented to create wash. The wash is distilled twice in pot stills capturing the the spirit. The whisky was distilled in 1987 and mellowed by ageing in barrels previously used to age bourbon. The spirit was diluted to 40% abv before bottling in 1999.
