    Description:
Each year since since 2000, Jim Cryle has chosen a very special release for the Cellar Selection. These ultra-collectable malts are reselling for a small fortune in the States. This 40 year old edition is something very special indeed and only 25 bottles have been made available to us. Also it was born in the same year as the Beatles had their first US hit!

Tasting Notes: Rich, fruity aromas of raisins and ripe bananas. Notes of sherry and walnuts interplay with a spicy oakiness. The palate is full and wonderfully smooth with the perfect balance of sweet plums and the deep floral extravagance of heather in bloom. Bottled at cask strength.

Method of Production: A vatting of fourteen barrels formerly used for Sherry and Bourbon, bringing together the smoothness of the region with the complexity of age. Constant monitoring was required to pick the most opportune time to bottle the casks. At such old ages Scotch is in danger of going bad from over aging and losing too much alcohol content to be classified as whisky.
