An Cnoc 30 Year Old 1975 50% ABV / Distillery Bottling Category: Speyside Compare Prices: An Cnoc
Description: Though owners Inver House decided to use the name An Cnoc (as opposed to the old distillery name of Knockdhu) to distinguish its owned bottled spirit since the beginning of the 1990s, they have decided to stick with it for this 2005 bottling of 1975 vintage whisky. That decision was made to so as not to further confuse the market and strengthen the revitalised An Cnoc name. Whatever, the name used this is a beautifully light to medium-bodied 30-year-old Speysider.
Tasting Notes: Dark orange in colour, the nose shows cedary and spicy wood induced aromas with hints of bees wax and honey. The palate is tangy and dry with orange peel and bitter chocolate flavours plus a hint of burnt caramel.
Method of Production: This small distillery has one large and tall spirit still with a long worm that produces a light, floral and estery new make spirit. This is a vatting of 1975 vintage ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon barrels bottled at 50% without chill-filtration.
