Description: A whisky celebrating the style of those originally produced at the distillery in the 19th Century, Abunadh (a-boon-akh) is gaelic for the origin. This is a very rare whisky.
Tasting Notes: Delicious aromas of honey and custard and flavours of apples, pears and plums with a cinnamon / nutmeg spice.
Method of Production: Aberlour is at the confluence of the Lour and the Spey, taking water with spicy character from St Drostans well. Malt barley is ground, mixed with heated water and fermented giving rough beer that is distilled twice in pot stills to make spirit. Aging for 12 years in old Sherry butts adds smooth weight and richness to the whisky. Using only Sherried whiskies gives rich generous Malt. The whisky was bottled unfiltered at full cask strength.
