Description: Benromach Organic Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first bottled single malt ever released to be fully certified organic by the Soil Association. To ensure that no previous non-organic spirit had been put in the barrels before, the casks were virgin first fills, thus this whisky has spent a relatively short amount of time in barrel to develop strong char, vanilla and caramel flavours.
Tasting Notes: The nose shows sweet, charred oak aromas with fresh fruit notes of bananas and pineapples; there is an earthy, toasted aroma also present. The palate has sweet vanilla and toffee flavours, with hints of green apples and orange peel plus a rich resinous note.
Method of Production: Pure spring water from the nearby Romach Hills and the finest organic barley and organic yeast is used to create the wash. Once distilled twice, the new make spirit is matured in hand selected virgin American oak casks which are made from trees found in natural, wild growing forests (the trees are not sprayed with pesticides or any other form of chemical prior to or after felling). The whisky is then bottles at a higher strength of 43%, it is non-chill filtered and bottled in its natural colour.
