The
Millars Irish Whiskey brand originates
from a company in Dublin called Adam
Millar & Company.
Millar’s Blended Irish Whiskey was first
created in 1843 as a premium Irish
whiskey and was successfully marketed
until the 1970's. Millar’s Special
Reserve was renowned as a classic Dublin
sipping whiskey. The traditional method
of drinking such a whiskey was to sip it
neat in or to accompany a pint of stout.
In 1987, Cooley Distillery, the only
independent Irish owned distillery in
Ireland acquired the rights to the A. A.
Millar brands. However, it wasn’t until
September 1994 that Cooley formally
re-launched Millar’s Special Reserve
Irish Whiskey.
Cooley has maintained the nature and
essence of this brand in a robust blend
of Irish grain and malt whiskeys to
replicate the taste that once made
Dublin whiskeys famous around the world. |
