A pleasant enough nose but not particularly expressive, some nice sherry but hard to pick the fruits out, a little chocolate, Turkish Delight, and light caramel.
Thankfully the palate is nice and it is lively but then a massive blast of oak comes in and drenches everything and the party is well & truly over.
Whatever flavours are here are completely swamped.
The initial, caramel and slightly citrus not are nice and the oak does subside a little but still far too much oak for me.
Such a shame, this one had promise but at least 5 years in the cask too long _________________ Pour me a glass please.
