Nose
Another bowl of dark fruits that have been stewed for an eternity.
Dark plum. blackberry, fig, red currants, black currants, cranberry, very rich sherry and a hint of peat.

Taste
Very fruity, very creamy with the peat coming through, nicely balanced but not very sweet, not bitter just a subdued fruitiness, lots there just not very loud. The oak is present but not overpowering, all the fruits the nose hinted at are here

Finish
Long, elegant and mouth filling

Those notes above were from 2017 but tried again tonight in direct competition with other old G&M and came to this conclusion:-Still a nice whisky but 87 points is about right I must have had rose coloured glasses on last time when tried on its own but that is why H2H are a good thing.
