Is there a difference in the blends between the new vs the last??

When start the new packaging??

I have found Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottlings to be consistent with its flavor profile over the years. There has been JW Blue Label limited editions which has focused on the profile of a whisky from a single distillery but the standard bottling has remained the same in my experience.

I think many JW limited editions are only limited because of the label and packaging which it is presented in, as a drinker rather than collector this does nothing for me so I do not pay extra for limited edition packaging alone.

I would say almost all of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label limited editions are only limited because of the packaging and contain the standard Blue Label whisky. As far as I am aware editions such as the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Cities Collection and Porsche Design Studio where limited because of the bottle design only.

There have been very few bottlings where the whisky in the bottle has been a limited edition, other than the bottlings you have already mentioned, the Casks Edition and Ghost and Rare. The only other obvious expression was the Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Edition which is a superb whisky but you need deep pockets if you want to drink this.

Perhaps Johnnie Walker realise that JW Blue fans are looking for and are willing to pay for something more, hence the launch of the Ghost and Rare series last year.
