Tonight its a mid 1960's Bruichladdich face off, lowest abv first
Bruichladdich 1968 21 year `Penny Black` Moon Import 46%
Bruichladdich-centenary this is a 15 year bottled in 1981 OB at 53%
Bruichladdich 1966/1983 Reserva Veronelli 53,5% Moon Import
Bruichladdich 1965 10 year OB Samaroli 95 proof 54%
This was an interesting H2H
1 - Penny Black
2 - Reserva Veroneli
3 - 1965 Samaroli but splitting hairs with the Reserva Veroneli
4 - Centenary
The 1968 Penny Black MI wins because it had a little more of everything and at only 46% had the most to offer on the palate.
There is really nothing between the Reserva Veronelli 1966 and the 10 year Samaroli 1965 only that the Veronelli you could tell the extra years had added a little extra to the profile but the Samaroli 10 year is a belter for one so young. Although the centenary was last again hardly anything in it and all 4 of these Laddie are great bottlings and this was a really enjoyable session _________________ Pour me a glass please.
