Here are my own taste notes for Ancnoc 22 Year from Knockdu Distillery at 46% ABV with 70% sherry cask and 30% bourbon cask which I presented to a Companions of the Quaich dinner last night in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, Canada..
Color: Golden Amber
Nose: Richardson's thick orange marmalade, cotton candy, vanilla nougat, butter pecan ice cream, sweet berry salt water taffy and lichee nuts in syrup.
Taste: Full-bodied, smooth as silk, peaches and cream, espresso crema followed by waffles and black coffee.
Finish: Long, the spice dances on the head of a pin sewn into sweet fabric, enticing and delectable. Candied orange peel and a light roasted element come to the fore.
Comments: This whisky is voluptuous, thick and dessert-like. It satisfies at all stages in a most impressive way.
Score: 95.5 _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I tasted the anCnoc 24 year old recently which replaced the 22 and you could almost have written the same note for the 24 although I wouldn't rate the 24 as highly as you have rated the 22. I would have given the anCnoc 24 year old 88/100 |

That's a stellar score. My interest for this whisky has peaked. I hope I'll have an opportunity to taste it. Cheers, Quaich1. |
