This one was matured in 3 casks, bourbon, sherry and French wine.
Murray's Taste Notes:
Color: Light gold
Nose: Peat infused with buickwheat honey, Robertson's orange marmalade and seaweed encrusted with mild oak tannin.
Taste: Full-bodied, intense medicine cabinet hues, mouth-filling with "aude de iodine". The peat dances a jig on the palate.
Finish:Long, the peat layers with smoke and ash yielding fireplace reminiscences.
Comments: A robust peaty dram with a youthful air and prone to leave an impression.
Score: 82.5 _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Interesting to see how tastes differ, I think the Port Charlotte 10 is a superb whisky and I rated it 93/100, but it does push the limits on value though, £57 here for a bottle. |

Thanks for your comment Alistair. In my view this whisky is a good one and worth trying but it didn't make the figural earth move for me. I have tasted so many fine Islay drams lately at the super-premium level that perhaps I have become a bit jaded. There are many PC editions that came out after this one and I would certainly like to have the opportunity to try some of them. Cheers. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
