Additives in Canadian whisky?

I'm starting to consider more Canadians are they are obviously more affordable in my area but am curious on what can make up A Canadian whisky here.

Scotch, Irish and Bourbon appear quite pure in terms of ingredients outside e150 sometimes. Ive read that there are pretty loose rules on what can go into a Canadian whisky though such as flavoring.

Does anyone have any insight on this and which brands are more pure from and ingredient perspective?

I understand that Canadian whiskey can have just under 10% of anything added to it (non-whisky flavouring). This includes sherry, rum and other spirits. I can't help you with which brands are better, although I've had some 'adulterated' Canadian whisky and I like it. I believe if anything is added then it needs to age for another two years which is why the flavour may be more harmonious rather than it might otherwise be.
