I cant think of a better day than St. Patrick's Day to let you know about a new blended Irish whiskey from the Northern Irish distillery Bushmills, they have revealed Bushmills Red Bush as the newest addition to their range of blended whiskeys.

Bushmills Red Bush was matured in exclusively in American First Fill Bourbon barrels and rather appropriately launches first in the United States which is testament to the surging popularity which the Irish whiskey category has experienced in the US in recent years.

Cheers William, I wasn't aware of this one, I cant wait for them to release it here, sounds like a gentler expression than the Black Bush and Bushmills Original which I always have a bottle of in the cupboard.

It seems like the new Bushmills owners are more focused on the blends than the single malts as the Bushmills 16 and 21 are getting very difficult to get hold of these days, not sure if it is just lack of mature stock or if they are discontinuing the older age statements.Still good to see a new addition to the range.

Grant perhaps Diageo left with a load of stock before handing over the keys of the distillery to the current owners leaving them struggling to meet demand for the aged stuff.
