Just over a week ago I had the pleasure of attending the global launch in Dublin of Method and Madness, a new premium range of Irish whiskey from Irish Distillers. The new Method and Madness Irish whiskey range launches with a two Single Grain whiskeys, a Single Malt and off course a Single Pot Still Irish whiskey and each new whiskey offers its own touch of Method and Madness.

You can read about the new range and the new whiskies here:

http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/methodandmadnessirishwhiskey.htm

While in Ireland I got the chance to have a chat with Midleton Master Cooper Ger Buckley which you can read about here:

http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/midletongerbuckleyinterview.htm

I also visited the Midleton Micro Distillery which is an experimental distillery, an outlet for the whiskey makers at Midleton, both masters and apprentices, you can read about my visit here:

http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/midletonmicrodistilleryvisit.htm

I have tasted the four new Method and Madness whiskeys a few times now and they are all very good whiskeys, I haven't added my review or rating of them yet as I want to sit down with them one more time before rating them, that will have to wait until next week now as I have run out of time this week and I am off to Ireland again later this evening, this time to Northern Ireland but I will taste the new Method and Madness whiskeys again next week when I get back to Scotland. What I will say for now is, if you are a fan of Irish whiskey you will love these.

Great write up William, looking forward to your review. Very interesting that the single malt was distilled at Bushmills, I am sure I will try 3 out of the 4, the 31 year old single grain is a little rich for me

I was told the pot still, single grain and single malt should be in shops from this month, and the 31 year old single grain will be available from April

Just spotted this William, a great review of the whiskies and your visit. I think I will go for the Method and Madness Pot Still first.

Hopefully we will see some of their Method and Madness experiments on this side of the pond soon, meanwhile I have asked my brother in Glasgow to look out for some for me.

Grant I am sure you will enjoy the Single Malt and Single Grain also.

I noticed that Master of Malt hasn't listed the new Method and Madness whiskeys but if anyone is looking to try them TWE now have them in stock, see here:

Your tasting notes on these are very tempting William, thanks for that. The pot still sounds especially appealing as a first step.

On another front, I really love the whole design on these, both the bottle shape and the graphic design, I think they look fantastic and quite different.

I will be sampling all 3 over the Easter holidays, if I can resist from opening the Grain and Single Malt before then.

Method and Madness have launched two new single pot still whiskeys:

Method and Madness Virgin Hungarian Oak Finish is the first of the two new Irish single pot still additions to the Irish whiskey range, matured in a combination of first-fill and re-fill American Bourbon oak barrels this single pot still whiskey was then finished in virgin Hungarian oak.

The second new release is Method and Madness 28 Year Old Ruby Port Pipe Single Cask Single Pot Still whiskey
