I've already picked up the 28yo single malt (believe it to be a Mortlach), the 1989 Cognac and got a 40yo tawny Port from last year still. Had the 30yo tawny a few years back and it was incredible.
The one I've passed on this year is the Armagnac. 2 years ago they did a 1973 vintage and I found it a bit irrelevant. This year's looks much darker and may be a different parcel of eau de vie but I've already spent too much on other stuff (Lidl whiskies too). _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I saw it today and it does look really tempting and darker in colour. AFAIK you can't add colour to Armagnac, but you can with cognac and brandy. It did look good. I'm going to hold fire for a couple of weeks and wait to see if funds allow me to go side by side with the version released 2 years ago. I have to say that whilst it wasn't the best spirit I've had, I did like the change up and it compared well to a Laubade XO I had open at the time. Fairly one dimensional, but at half the price of the XO I couldn't grumble. |

We are talking bargains and for £19.99 the glen marnoch 12 is in my view a defo bargain. |
