Hi everyone,
First time viewer; first-time poster; but not a first-time drinker.
Right, my grandparents have unearthed various bottles of whisky. These range from old malts to commemorating all events of the Royal family. All bar few (that had no box) come in their original packaging, and one of them comes with a 'Limited Edition' certificate.
I'll list everything here, and just hopefully some more experienced people will be able to tell me how much they are roughly (do cite sources and evidence, please). All but the Glamis Castle was taken out of it's box/container, but silk gloves were used (to take pictures of it)
- Bells Finest Old Scotch Whisky Christmas Decanter 1992
- Glamis Castle Decanter 1990 (Queen Mother's 90th Birthday Commemoration) w/ Limited Edition certificate. (Dec. Number: 0794) in the blue box.
-Bells Old Scotch Whisky Extra Special Decanter 1989 and the same one but in a different box (original).
The following are in their original blue cylinders.
- Commemoration of Princess Eugenie's Birth 1990 (23rd March) in blue tin
- Commemoration of Queen Mother's 90th Birthday 1990.
- Commemoration of Princess Beatrix 1988.
The following ones commemorate the births of Princes William and Harry, Prince Charles' marriage to Lady Diana, Prince Andrew's marriage to Miss. Sarah Ferguson.
I believe the above bottles (the commemoration ones) are made out Porcelain.
The last lot are the traditional (I'm told one of these is 51 years old) whisky in their bell shaped bottles. They are in 4 sizes with the biggest being 75cl. My grandad tells me this is the one that is 50/51 years old.
I'd appreciate any feedback I can get
PS: I do have pictures of them all, but it'll take me time to upload them. |

Hi Ryan
The Bells decanters were first produced in the 1930s and since 1988 a decanter has been produced each Christmas plus many commemorative decanters have been released including many Royal commemorative decanters. You will find the majority of the bottles you have are available from The Whisky Exchange online whisky shop and they are also listed in the shop section of this site, see here: http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/shop/products/Bells-Decanters.htm
I am no expert but i would guess the decanter you have from 50 years ago will be quite valuable.
Hope that helps

That sounds like a great collection especially the Decanter's.
Would love to see some of the pictures.
