Following a successful limited run in Ireland Jameson are now releasing Jameson Caskmates worldwide.
It was created by the Midleton Distillery in collaboration with micro-brewer, Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork. More info and a short video explaining Jameson Caskmates in more detail here.

This sounds very interesting William using stout barrels for the Irish whiskey. I tried stout a few times when i visited England in 1979 and a few times since and I can see the sort of influence it might have. I always thought it tasted of prune nectar. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Reviving an old thread... has anyone tried this?
I've loved the bottle of standard Jameson that I'm just coming to the end of and I'm also a fan of dark beers, so this looks tempting as a replacement. |

I have had the Jameson Caskmates and thought it was very good, a oaky honeyed sweet Jameson definitely worth a try so is many of the Jameson blends. |

Excellent, thanks for that! The only ones of those I've seen about is the Jameson Crested. I'll have a read up and I'm pretty sure my wishlist will be expanding even further.
I really enjoyed the sweet honeyed aspect of the standard Jameson that I picked up on. The bottle has gone down in near record time. |
