I see that the end of summer sale started today and the HP Viking Tribe is on sale for £30 again. I also got a Glengoyne 12 for £32 and a Smokehead for £31.

HP Viking Tribe now 27.89. The lowest price I've seen it.

I think it was priced around this price around when it was first launched as a sort of special introductory price, a very good whisky for this price.

I'm sorry but even that is a crazy price - at most this should be the starter price and then drop to the 50s or even 40s.

It does seem lots for a 15yr old and not a price I'll be paying. It was about £82 before the drop.

Would Glenfarclas 15 be a better option unreduced at £52.90?

Incidentally Aberlour A'Bunadh £61.99 (down from around £80 but yes up from £40 the other year)

Auchentoshan Three Wood £34.99

I would absolutely buy a Glenfarclas 15 instead - though my Glenfarclas stocks are still topped up at the moment.

Is the Glanfarclas 15 the best value point in their range?

I would say the Glenfarclas 15 is one of the best value for money 15 year olds around, yes. I haven't had the Tamdhu, but of course the problem is I never will given its price point!
