Hi Ardy

As you may already know Arran is a new distillery which started producing whisky in 1995. Arran is an island off the west coast of scotland but the whisky it produces is not simiilar to other west coast malts such as those produced on Islay.

I assume the bottle you have is the 10 year old, i found it a light citrus/fruity enjoyable dram. Since opening Arran has dabbled with a lot of different cask finishes but recently added a sherry cask finish to their core ranch which i thought was very good. What Arran doesnt have like many west coast/island malts do have is smoke.

I found arran to be a pleasant whisky but as with all whisky it just depends on your individual taste.

I would say you made a good buy, i found Arran 10 to be a decent malt.

thanks guys.
it actually wasnt bad at all.
nice flavour and had a new character.
a little aggressive spice on the nose, but it grows on you and makes up after sipping.
glad i tried it.
