Here are my taste notes today for Canadian Club Chairman's Select 100% Rye:
Neat-
Nose: Delightful initial flash of Turkish delight, black cherries then burst forth, cream soda notes, sourdough rye bread, hints of lime and lemon peel, sparkling natural mineral water (citrus) and wild bulrushes.
Palate: Spicy, caramels, drying, hint of pepper, leather notes, postage stamp adhesive and bursts of intense rye with tart citrus notes and juniper berries.
Finish: Long, dark chocolate with high cocoa content, chewy caramels and hint of roasted chestnuts; breath freshening.
******Comments-
A powerful single grain rye whisky experience with punch and zest when experienced neat. This is the real McCoy. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Hi John. It's 40% abv. However, it has "palate impact" that gives it a sense of potency. I hope it makes it across the pond so folks can try it. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Murray does it state an age for the whisky? Sounds quite young but that can be part of the fun of rye whisky. |

James, there is no age statement for this whisky and I expect it is quite a young brown spirit. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
