LANGS SUPREME SCOOPS GOLD
Ian Macleod Distillers is celebrating a triumphant win at the International Spirits Challenge 2008, with Langs Supreme Blended Scotch Whisky winning a Gold Medal in the prestigious awards for Excellence in Tasting.
The Gold Medal follows the recent re-packaging and re-positioning of Langs Supreme by Ian Macleod Distillers, which aimed to create a more premium and contemporary design, reflecting the brands provenance and the high quality blend within.
A classic blend, which includes the finest of Highland and Speyside malt whiskies, each one matured for at least five years, Langs has a high malt content in comparison to many of its competitors, along with many top ranking malts. The renowned Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky at its heart, gives Langs Supreme its unique, gentle style and smooth, creamy taste.
Iain Weir, Marketing Director of Ian Macleod Distillers commented: "We are absolutely delighted that Langs Supreme has received a Gold Medal in the 2008 International Sprits Challenge. The award, which recognises the excellence in the taste of Langs Supreme, reaffirms our decision to increase the premiumisation of the packaging earlier this year, to better reflect the quality and history of this fine blend.
Success in the ISC is recognised throughout the world and I am sure that winning this award, combined with the redesign, will increase on and off-trade penetration in leading outlets in key developing markets worldwide."?
Now in its 13th year, the International Spirits Challenge is regarded as one of the most influential awards in the international drinks industry. Each year, nearly a thousand spirits from across the globe are rigorously judged and tasted by industry leaders and international spirits experts, in an effort to find and promote spirits of outstanding quality from around the world.
The Langs name is a traditional, independent, long established brand, with the additional benefit of being granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty the Queen Mother in 1984.
