I get varied advice regarding this bottle.
I originally bought it to drink but as time went by I stored it as an investment..I am wondering when (hoping it hasn't past) will be a good time to sell and any idea what it might fetch (probably at auction or direct private sale). |

based on auction results and retail availability, I'd say it's worth around 500 pounds.
in a private sale possibly a bit less. I'd be interested but cant afford more than 400 |

Hi beany123 and welcome to the SMW forum by the way.
I dont think the time will ever pass to sell the Ardbeg Oogling, it currently sells in whisky specialist shops for around £700 but in a private sale or auction you would normally be looking at half the shop price but Ardbeg attracts a lot of interest from whisky collectors and drinkers so i would say you could possibly fetch close to the shop price on a good day at auction. My estimate would be £500 - £700 in the current marketplace. Remember you will have auction costs and fees to consider.
Do let us know if you decide to sell and if you are selling at auction feel free to link to your auction. And if/when it does sell if you dont mind letting us know what price it fetches as it helps us keep track of the current whisky market.
There is a bottle available over at Scotch Whisky Auctions and the bidding is currently £500

William is correct -I was looking at the ex VAT price (Im in the US) so 500 -700 is more like it. |
