Many years ago Campbeltown rivalled Speyside for its number of distilleries but sadly today as far as i know there are only a couple still producing whisky. I have tried Longrow once (which is actually produced at the Springbank distillery), i had it at a tasting night i attended and enjoyed it very much but never actually bought myself a bottle. Springbank is more widely available and i do enjoy it very much. I wouldnt say Springbank is better than Longrow just different.
I very much enjoyed the Longrow 14 year old i had recently. The other Campbeltown i very much enjoy is the Springbank 10 Year old 100 Proof, it has a bit more kick than the normal 10 year old.
