The Glenmorangie A Midwinter Night's Dram could be stock the shop had left over from last year which they took off the shelf after last winter. I haven't heard of a 2nd release being launched. |

To clear things up hopefully|:
I checked a bottle from last year and the bottling date is 24/09/2015
I checked a bottle from this year and the botting date is 15/08/2016
So it looks like its still in production rather than just old stock. How long can you keep calling somehting "Limited" for. Essentially every whisky is Limited. I think this is really poor from Glenmorangie.
The main quesiton is can anyone notice a difference? |

For the last few months my local branch of Morrisons have stopped selling the boxes the whisky come in. Anyone else suffering with this? I know it's just a bit of cardboard but it has a cost and somewhere like the SMWS charge £3.50 for their boxes. I'm very tempted to go in, pick up a Glenmorange Midwinter and offer them £27 instead of £30 because it doesn't have a box. With Christmas coming it's a lot easier to wrap a bottle as a gift with a box than without.
Tuesday rant over. |

Tuesday rant over. | I have seen this before, I think the individual stores decide to do this rather than being a general Morrisons policy, a stupid thing to do really as the packaging is part of what makes single malts a special gift and the gift buyers will go elsewhere. Also often the packaging tube or box has info which isn't on the label. I think the reason they do it is it is awkward to get their security tags on with the box/tube and they can fit more on the shelf. I would guess it is a stupid decision taken locally instore and it will effect sales. |

I don't think I've seen this in any of my local shops but I'd demand the box personally.. you don't buy crisps with no packet or cornflakes with no box.. wouldn't be happy.. |

Hi Sorren. I absolutely agree. Businesses need to understand that the customer has expectations and are spending money to achieve them. Reminds me of a quote I once heard: "Make a customer, not a sale." _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I like the Lasanta, but price seems to have gone crazy of late, I only paid £25 for it when it was on offer in my local Morrisons. £40 seems like a very good price these days! |

I know, I got one 4 or so years ago from Sainsbury's when it was £20 on offer, those days are long gone |
