Some of you may already come across the new whisky form Compass Box, in fact it is the first whisky in a new range from Compass Box - Great King Street and the first whisky in the new range is the Artists Blend.
What Compass Box has done is apply their whisky making principles to a new range of Blended Scotch whisky and the Artist Blend is the first release in this new range.
I have to say i very much enjoyed it. The choice of casks have certainly enhanced the softness and sweetness of this whisky and there is obviously some good quality whiskies gone into the blend. Not the most complex but a lovely sweet, fruity whisky with a nice bit of spice, very easy to drink and one of those whiskies that once you taste it you will want more.
At first glance you may not think it is cheap at around £25 for a no age statement 50cl bottle of blended whisky but it is a well constructed quality blended whisky which I would say is very much worth the £25.

I tried this at Whisky and a that in Ayr the other week, pretty good stuff. I have always been a fan of Compass Box and there use of wood to make the whisky more interesting. I didnt actually realise it was only a 50cl bottle, which is odd, i hope this isnt a trend starting.
