I have just taken hold of two bottles of Whisky after a family bereavement, one is called The Dufftown Glenlivet 10yr old, 75 cl. The other is called The Glenturret 12 yr old 75cl. Both have square boxes. Does anyone have any idea of their value? |

You havent given much info but for example a bottle of Dufftown Glenlivet from the 1980s - shop prices around £200 - £300
Have a look over at The Whisky Exchange shop they should have a few bottles similar to yours but remember these are shop prices and you may only get half the amount in a private sale. |

Thanks Kenny M
What sort of info would anyone need to make a more accurate valuation?
I did not realise that it would be worth as much as that!
Needless to say I won't be opening it tonight

Basically what it says on the label can help determine the value such as ABV or Proof size of the bottle and picture could help very much.
If you are looking to sell here is a few options -
There are a couple of whisky auctions Mctears in Glasgow and Bonhams in Edinburgh both have websites where you can contact them, if you contact them with a view to selling they will be able to give you a current valuation.
You could also try contacting The Whisky Exchange who buys as well as sells rare and collectable whisky. If you do contact anyone give them all the info off the labels on the bottle and a send them some pics of the bottles. |
