It is debatable whether this is an American whisky which TWE has listed, they possibly have it wrong and it is perhaps a Canadian whisky which has be bottled in the USA

I would say what is listed on TWE is American whiskey and the Schenley Golden Wedding Murray was drinking is Canadian whisky.

Here is a bit of background on Schenley
Quote:
Schenley is an American-Canadian whisky company which is named after a town in Pennysylvania. Schenley started life as an American whiskey company. In 1937 Schenley acquired Bernheim in Louisville along with all its brands.

Directly after World War II the company which had bought the rights to the name “Cascade” began to rebuild the Cascade Hollow distillery in Tullahoma which had been founded by George Dickel. At the same time a Canadian subsidiary was established after an attempt to merge with Seagram had failed, a fight then began with the Canadians for the lead position in North America. The Canadian part of Schenley was later sold to a group of pension funds and continued to operate as Canadian Schenley.

The company later found its way into the hands of what is now today called Diageo, it was the merger of United Distillers and International Distillers & Vintners (now Diageo) which resulted in the Schenley Golden Wedding whisky brand changing ownership and was acquired Canandaigua in 1999. I believe Canadians simply refer to the whisky as “Golden Wedding”
