I have been periodically looking for Japanese single malts and Japanese vatted malts here in Ontario, Canada. I took a drive to a LCBO whisky shop about an hour's drive from my home and low and behold, I picked up 2 bottles of Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 43% ABV, NAS, a vatted malt which incidentally is Jim Murray's pick for best Japanese whisky of the year in his 2020 Whisky Bible. Anyone try it? Comments? Cheers.

I had one a few years ago, purchased very cheaply from a French supermarket if I remember correctly. I didnt keep any notes I am afraid however I do remember enjoying it as it was very drinkable.

Be interested to see what you think of yours.

Cheers..

Nice buy. I need to get another bottle. Always enjoyed the botlles I have had before.

For me, another Port Charlotte MRC01 as I am really enjoying the one I have open.

Also while casting over whiskysponge the other day managed to get in quick and get his new Clynelish 11yrs bottle so thats my BF deal. I seem to spend alot of my time reading sites about whisky and occasionally it pays off.

Cheers
