i.e. 2004 first release will be laid down in 2004 and is the first from that 'vintage'.

One of the very reasons I checked out of the Scotch market, on the whole, about 5 years ago. Still buy and drink the odd bottle but its not been my main tipple for some years. This isn't a new thing.
