The excellent
Benromach 10 year old makes it a hat
trick of gold medals.
It
will come as no surprise to you if you
are already familiar with the Benromach
Distillery’s flagship 10 Year Old Single
Malt Scotch Whisky that it has picked up
two more gold medals, making it three in
as many months.
The classic Speyside whisky,
hand-crafted by just three distillers,
secured "Big Gold" and the accolade of
Spirit of the Year at the 2015
International Spirits Awards in Germany.
It was also selected for a gold medal in
the Scotch Whisky Masters competition
run by the Spirits Business Magazine.
These latest awards follow a gold medal
at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits
Competition back in March.
Distillery Manager Keith Cruickshank
said: "We’re obviously pleased that
Benromach is winning recognition around
the world as a top-quality product.
"It’s testament to the hands-on approach
we have here, where everything is manual
and dependent on our senses – sight,
smell, sound and touch.
"We like to say there are four
ingredients – the finest barley grown
and malted to our specifications, water
from the Chapelton Spring in the Romach
Hills, yeast (we’re one of the last
distilleries in Scotland to use a
mixture of brewer’s and distiller’s) and
us, the distillers who make it happen!"
Meanwhile, Benromach 100° Proof has been
chosen by Scottish Field magazine as its
number one whisky in the £40-£80 price
range for its annual whisky challenge.
